The department of Liver transplant and hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery is a highly specialised surgical department dealing with disorders of liver, pancreas, gallbladder and biliary system. The department specialises in performing liver transplants, both adult and pediatric. The liver for donation is taken from cadaver or living-related donors, depending on availability. Innovative and complex transplant surgeries, including combined liver-kidney transplantation (CLKT), transplant for acute liver failure, and liver re-transplantation are also offered.There are highly specialised intensive care units and wards for proper care of liver transplant patients, before and after the operation. Highly trained nursing staff, well verse with the utmost care required by these patients is available in operation theatres, ICUs and surgical wards.
Hepato-pancreato-biliary surgical part deals with complex operations of liver, pancreas and biliary system. The surgeries involving these organs require multi-disciplinary care and planning.
